Have you just added a room, extended your home, renovated the kitchen, or added a deck? If so, you have likely increased the value of your home. Zillow is a website that tons of buyers use to quickly get an estimate of how much a home it’s worth. Zillow uses public and submitted user data to to calculate the value. Zillow calls that calculation a Zestimate. Millions of users are looking up zestimates before they write offers and chances are if you haven’t updated the site, your home values could be completely off.
Keep in mind, your home value is not based on what Zillow thinks, but if potential homebuyers are relying on the site to evaluate your home price, let’s update the information. Important note: Home fact changes need to be made before we list your property or Zillow won’t be able to update your information.
Here’s five easy steps to make changes properly (you can do this from your phone):
- Find your home on Zillow.
- Touch the “edit” button next to your home facts.
- Verify you are the home owner.
- Select the home type and edit facts.
- Verify your Zestimate
Zillow will now email you a home report to keep you updated on your Zestimate. Use your Zestimate in conjuction with me, your consultant, to come up with the true value of your home.
